The Pelican Chair

Upholstery: Sheepskin

Wood: Walnut

Treatment: Oiled

DESCRIPTION

Finn Juhl’s fascination for surrealism is clearly visible in the Pelican Chair. Among all his designs, the Pelican Chair was perhaps the furthest ahead of its time. It is manufactured with a cushion and upholstered by hand in Denmark in sheepskin, legs are available in oak or walnut.

With its soft, organic form, the Pelican Chair feels almost like a body cradling another – offering a warm, friendly embrace the moment you sit down. Like many of Finn Juhl’s later designs, it allows for multiple relaxed seating positions.

CARE + MAINTENANCE

To preserve it, regular cleaning is necessary and will make the sheepskin last a long time. Vacuum and air regularly to prevent the texture of the wool from going flat. Stains should be soaked immediately, then cleaned with a soft sponge, lukewarm water, and mild wool soap. Avoid harsh or chemical cleaners that can damage the sheepskin. Avoid placing the furniture in direct sunlight as sheepskin is a natural material and colour changes in the wool may occur.

Maintain oiled wood surfaces and prevent drying with specialist wood oil, an abrasive sponge and a lintfree cloth. Oil penetrates the grain of the wood, lifting away dirt and creating a water-repellent coating with a smooth, matte surface. We recommend treating furniture twice upon purchase followed by 3-4 annual treatments.

CLEANING + STAIN REMOVAL

Stains: soak in water immediately as it can leave marks and be difficult to remove subsequently. Clean with a soft sponge, lukewarm water and mild soap especially made for wool. Do not use harsh or chemical cleaning agents on the sheepskin as they may damage the material.

Small scratches: Sand lightly in the direction of the grain using fine grit-220 sandpaper. Oil after sanding.

Dents and scratches: Most can be repaired if wood fibres have not been damaged. Brush dents with lukewarm water to raise the wood fibres. Once dry, sand with grit-220 sandpaper and treat with oil.

PH 4½- 4 Pendant

Shades: Opal Glass with Sandblasted inner side

Finish: Chrome Plated

DESCRIPTION

Poul Henningsen designed the three-shade system during 1925/1926. Throughout his life, PH sought to create glare-free lighting; aiming to direct light where it was most needed, and creating soft shadows while using incandescent bulbs as a light source.

By using a design based on the logarithmic spiral, he achieved even distribution of light over the entire curve of the shade. This even light distribution, together with the diffuse reflection through the glass, made it possible to control glare and shadow. Each shade reduces the amount of light equally due to their distance from the light source.

CARE + MAINTENANCE
To maintain the clarity and beauty of your glass components, gently polish them with a soft microfiber cloth using circular motions.
Warning: avoid using scouring powders, abrasive cloths, or cleaning agents containing solvents, alcohol, or acids. These substances may dull or damage the surface.

To maintain the reflective quality of chrome elements, we recommend regular cleaning with a soft microfiber cloth. For occasional polishing, use a product specifically designed for chrome surfaces, taking care not to scratch or dull the finish. Always wear fabric gloves when handling chrome parts to avoid fingerprints and smudges.
Warning: avoid using scouring powders, abrasive cloths, or cleaning agents containing solvents, alcohol, or acids. These substances may dull or damage the surface.

Lissoni Sofa

Upholstery: Analine Leather

Frame: Steel

DESCRIPTION

The Lissoni Sofa™ is a sophisticated, modern sofa series that adds a healthy dose of comfort and luxury to everyday life. Italian design inspired by Danish function, the lounge chair in the Lissoni Sofa™ series offers a comfortable and sophisticated space to sit back and relax.

Leather offers a high degree of comfort, breathability and softness. Over time, aniline leathers will patinate. The open surface means that coloured aniline leathers will fade with sunlight exposure and natural non-died aniline leathers will darken with exposure to light.

CLEANING & STAIN REMOVAL

Clean only when necessary, using hot water and soap flakes. Dissolve 2-3 tablespoons of soap flakes in 1 litre of boiled water. Using only the foam, apply evenly across the surface of the furniture using a soft cloth. Mop excess water with a dry, soft cotton cloth. Allow the furniture to dry before use. Spot cleaning is not recommended for leather as it can cause discolouration. Damage caused by stain removers is not covered by the Fritz Hansen warranty.

CAUTION

Sharp objects can scratch, and damage leather and non-colourfast clothing can cause permanent discolouration. Avoid placing in direct sunlight for extended periods of time or close to heat sources.
